Official Name: The Republic of Cuba
国　旗：三角形和星原是古巴秘密革命组织的标志，象征自由、平等、博爱和爱国者的鲜血。五角星象征古巴是一个独立的民族。三道蓝色宽条表示未来的共和国分成东、西、中三州，白条表示古巴人民在独立战争中怀着纯洁的目的。
National Flag: The national flag (proprtions 2 by 1) has five equal horizontal stripes, of blue, white, blue, white and blue, with a red triangle, enclosing a five-pointed white star,at the hoist.
国　徽：盾面上部蓝色部分表示加勒比海，一轮太阳从海面升起，钥匙象征古巴为墨西哥湾的一把钥匙（古巴岛形似一把钥匙），也表示古巴地理位置之重要。盾面左下角的蓝、白相间条纹为国旗的颜色，右下角是棕榈树、草地和山峦。盾形两旁为橡树枝叶和月桂枝叶，背后是象征权威的标志－－束棒。束棒之上是“自由之帽”。
自然地理：古巴是一个岛国，是西印度群岛中最大的岛国。由古巴和青年岛（原松树岛）两个主岛及其周围的大约1600个加勒比海小岛组成。北距美国的佛罗里达州145公里，东北方向是巴哈马，东部邻国是海地，南部邻国是牙买加，西北方向是墨西哥。大部分地区地势平坦，东部、中部是山地，西部多丘陵。主要山脉为马埃斯特腊山，其主峰图尔基诺峰海拔1974米，是全国最高峰。最大河流为考托河，流经平原中部，雨季容易泛滥。全境大部分地区属热带雨林气候，仅西南部沿岸背风坡为热带草原气候，年平均气温为25.5℃。5－10月为雨季，常遭飓风侵袭，其他月份为旱季。除少数地区外，年降水量在1000毫米以上。
Location: Cuba is an archipelago consisting of two main islands and approximately 1,600 tiny islets located in the Caribbean Sea. Florida, of the United States, lies about 145 km. to the north, the Bahamas are to the northeast, Haiti is to the east, Jamaica lies to the south, Mexico is to the west, and the Gulf of Mexico lies to the northwest.
