General

国　名：几内亚比绍共和国

Official name: The Republic of Guinea-Bissau

国　旗：旗地由红、黄、绿三色构成。靠旗杆一边为红色垂直长方形，中有一颗黑色五角星。右面旗地由黄、绿两个平行长方行构成，上方为黄色，下方为绿色。

国　徽：由五角星、贝壳、棕榈叶和绶带组成。贝壳象征几内亚比绍是一个濒临海洋的国家并拥有丰富的海洋资源。绶带上用葡萄牙文写着“团结、战斗、进步”。

自然地理：位于非洲西部，包括比热戈斯群岛等岛屿。大陆部分北接塞内加尔，东、南邻几内亚，西濒大西洋。除东南部多丘陵外，其他地区均为海拔100米以下的平原。境内河流纵横，湖泊众多。主要河流科鲁巴尔河由东北向西南注入大西洋，水量较大，富航运。属热带海洋性季风气候。5－11月为雨季，12－4月为旱季。全年高温。年平均气温约25℃。年降水量1500－2000毫米，沿海多于内陆。

Location: Guinea-Bissau lies on the west coast of northern Africa, bordered by Senegal to the north, Guinea to the east and south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. It includes the island of Bolama and the Bijagos Archipelago.

Language: Portuguese is the official language. Creole (Criolo) and a number of African languages are also spoken.

民　族：巴兰特族占30％；富拉族占20％；曼雅科族占14％；曼丁加族占13％；帕佩尔族占7％；其他非洲人占15％；欧洲人和非洲／欧洲混血种人占1％。

Ethnic Composition: Balanta - 30%; Fula - 20%; Manjaca - 14%; Mandinga - 13%; Papel - 7%; other African - 15%; European and mixed African-European - 1%.

宗　教：原始拜物教占65％，伊斯兰教占30％，基督教占5％。

Religion: Indigenous beliefs - 65%; Muslim - 30%; Christian - 5%.

货　币：100生丁＝1非洲金融共同体法郎（非洲法郎）；1美元＝626.7非洲法郎（1999年9月）（1997年3月，几内亚比绍加入西非经济货币联盟；7月，原货币比索作废，开始使用非洲法郎。）
